Family loses father and are seriously injured when elderly woman drives wrong way

The Washburn Family of Asbury, Missouri were involved in a terrible accident in Jasper County.  The accident resulted in Johnny Washburn's death and four others in the Washburn family being seriously injured.  In what has become an epidemic, we have another story of a elderly driver driving the wrong way on a highway and killing someone.

The membors of the Washburn Family that were seriously injured were:

Deborah Washburn, age 49.
Abby Washburn, age 19.
Karli Washburn, age 12.
Samantha Washburn, age 13.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol's investigating officer SGT. Mike Bryan, the accident occurred when a 1998 Dodge Dakota driven by Bonnie Weaver of Tulsa Oklahoma was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when she struck the 2006 Chevy Trailblazer of the Washburn family.  There is no indication of what caused Bonnie Weaver to drive on the wrong side of the highway, and it may have been a case of a confused elderly driver.

Here is the Police Report.

  1. This may sound obvious, but many people think that they know just as much as a lawyer and that a lawyer just collects the money. That is simply not true. Just because you have been injured doesn't mean that you are entitled to full compensation for your injuries. theocpiattorney
