One vehicle accident in Chariton County leaves one dead and one seriously injured

Jessica Diehl age 34, lost her life in a December 30, 2012 accident in Chariton County.   According to the investigating officer Trooper Barry Graskewicz, of the Missouri Highway Patrol, on December 30, 2012 at approximately 2:15 am on Missouri Highway M just east of Highway Y the fatality accident occurred. According to the police report the party ultimately responsible for the accident was the driver Jessica Diehl.  A Brunswick Missouri man known as Charles Lewis was also critically injured in the accident.  The Chariton County car accident was one of many over the holiday travel period. 

The Police report states that the accident occurred as a vehicle driven by Jessica Diehl, lost control of the 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, drove off the north edge of the roadway causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on the top of the truck. Charles W. Lewis was transported by helicopter to the University Hospital in Columbia, the county coroner pronounced Ms. Diehl's death at the scene.
