Chariton County car accident was one of many over the holiday travel period.
Police report states that the accident occurred as a vehicle driven by Jessica Diehl, lost control of the 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, drove off the north edge of the roadway causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on the top of the truck. Charles W. Lewis was transported by helicopter to the University Hospital in Columbia, the county coroner pronounced Ms. Diehl's death at the scene.
