Accident involving Tractor and Semi Truck leaves young man seriously injured

An accident in Clinton County Missouri has left a young man seriously injured.  Jason Mink, age 15, of Gower, had to be flown to the Children's Mercy Hospital after the accident on July 22, 2013.  The facts of the accident as reported by the Missouri Highway Patrol and its investigating officer CPL M.S. Belshe, claim that on July 22, 2103 at approximately 12:05 p.m. both vehicles were traveling east bound on Missouri Highway 116.  A 2001 Mac Truck driven by Jodie Downs of St. Joesph, crested a hill and began to pass a 2000 New Holland Tractor driven by Jason Mink.  As the semi-truck was passing the tractor, the tractor operator signals and turns the tractor onto a gravel road.  At this point the semi-truck strikes the young man in the tractor. The impact caused serious damage to both vehicles.  Jodie Downs was taken to Liberty Hospital by ambulance.
