Sheriff's Deputy fired for making inmates do the robot dance while listening to Usher... WTF?

Ok this has got to be one of the stupidest reasons to ever get fired.  The Deputy should not have been doing crap like this to inmates, what a moron.  That being said, it is about the funniest reason I have ever heard someone get fired for.  Imagine this guys next job interview...

Interviewer: Alright Mr. Martucci tell us about your last job and the circumstances in which you left it.

Martucci:  Well, I really liked the job.  I left because of a forced dance party.

Interviewer:  Excuse me a forced dance party?

Martucci:  Well I was really feeling this new Usher song so I forced some inmates do party down with me.

AKRON, Ohio - Accusations against a Summit County Sheriff's deputy sparked an internal investigation that led to the deputy being fired for making inmates dance to Usher music.

On April 11, the department said deputy Dominic Martucci made inmates dance to Usher's "Yeah," having them do the robot and dance "old school," in exchange for jail privileges like using the microwave.  Inmates complained that Martucci forced them to do a 5 minute "bump and grind" routine while other deputies watched, according to the incident report. The paperwork also said deputies Metcalf, Hoover and Zalick watched, but did nothing to stop Martucci. All of them were given disciplinary notices.

According to the report, Martucci admitted to the dance party saying he did it because a handful of inmates didn't go directly into lockup when he said it was time and that some continued to use the microwave.
Deputy Hoover wrote that the inmates seemed to be "having a good time" and that they were dancing by themselves.  Martucci never provided a written statement.  At a disciplinary hearing early Wednesday, the sheriff's office said the actions of Martucci were "unbecoming of a deputy sheriff" and because he failed to treat the prisoners humanely, he is out of a job.

Looks like the Kansas City police are watching young drivers trying to emphasize the importance of wearing a safety belt. There may be a more useful way to expend police resources than by enforcing seat belt laws...
I always found it funny that a motorcyclist doesn't have to wear a seatbelt..but ehh what do I know.  Remember Sea tbelt violations are not moving violations here in Kansas.

Kansas City police issued almost 90 traffic citations in a recent safety campaign directed at teenage drivers, the department announced Tuesday. During the last two weeks of March, officers targeted drivers who were not wearing seat belts and who committed other traffic offenses.

Police conducted 88 traffic stops, issuing 55 speeding tickets, 33 citations for seat belt violations and 38 tickets for other offenses.

NO speeding ticket for the terminator! Arnold pulled over.

What happens when your the former Governor, a famous movie star, and an ex-body builder and you get pulled over speeding in your Mercedes?  You get a warning.  Arnold Schwarzenegger was allegedly speeding down the mean streets of Beverly Hills the other day and got pulled over by a motorcycle cop.  I am sure the cop was surprised to look behind the wheel and see the Terminator looking back at him.  If I were the policeman I would have asked him if he had seen John Conner.

So if you have been pulled over and are in need of a speeding ticket attorney remember the police aren't just picking on you most of the time.  The simple fact of the matter is that everyone at one time or another will get a speeding ticket if they speed.  Since we all can't be famous people and ex heads of state, don't plan on getting a warning.

Another KC Merto City moving to the popular e-ticket format for speeding tickets

Overland Park, Olathe, Kansas City Kansas, Kansas City Missouri and now North Kansas City, all have something in common.  They are using the new e-ticket system for issuing and prosecuting traffic violations.  What this means for the city is a streamlined system and a more up to date record.  No more waiting on the police to turn in paper tickets before the court can do anything with the tickets.

The City Council last week unanimously approved a measure that would move the city to an electronic ticketing system. Currently, police carry ticket books and fill out the citations by hand. Another person enters those citations into the municipal court system.

Under the new e-ticket system, police will use an electronic device to capture information from driver’s licenses, print the citations and transmit them to the municipal court.  The devices also can read some license plates and vehicle identification numbers.  The main advantages of the new system are that it makes the process more efficient while at the same time saving the city money, said Stephen Roberts, information technology manager for North Kansas City.

Police grant young man's wish to be Batman for a day!

Heard this on the Radio today.  Pretty neat idea and pretty nice of the police and firemen to take the time to set that up and entertain a kid that has had a rough go.  I guess a few less speeding tickets were handed out and a few less people were pulled over by the cops but I bet this kid had one heck of fun day.

It started with a young boy who likes Batman wishing he could be Batman for a day.  The police and firemen took on the project and ran with it.  The police had the young boy dress as Batman then had a policeman also dress in up as Batman the put a logo on the police car and staged a robbery at a local bank.  The two Batmen showed up to find a realistic looking joker in the middle of the robbery.  Where they foiled the robbery and took the Joker in.

The Fireman set up a fake car bomb planted by the Riddler where Batman helped the police arrest the bad guy.  This is one of the coolest use of public service ever.    Here is the video below. 

Famous Golfer gets $621 speeding ticket after Masters.

And we all thought professional golf was a game for poised and put together folks who never make mistakes.  Looks like we were wrong and even famous Masters champs make the same mistakes we all do.  Just like you or I, sometimes running late for an important meeting (or Royals game) causes our judgment to lapse and we get a speeding ticket.

You and I driving our Toyota from work to a baseball game is just the same as some famous golfer driving his Mercedes 97 miles per hour from million dollar golf game to another million dollar golf game... right?

Olazabal pays $621 speeding ticket for driving 97 mph on Ga. highway after leaving Masters

SPRINGFIELD, Ga. - Speeding between the Masters and his next tournament cost Jose Maria Olazabal $621 when a Georgia sheriff's deputy pulled him over for driving 97 mph on a rural highway.
Olazabal, the Ryder Cup captain for Europe, agreed to follow a deputy to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office and pay the speeding ticket in cash. The Spaniard was stopped Monday afternoon traveling from Augusta to Hilton Head, S.C., for the Heritage tournament, sheriff's spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.

Ehsanipoor said Tuesday that Olazabal "apologized, he was cooperative and after the paperwork was done he went on his way." He says the deputy clocked Olazabal's Mercedes exceeding the posted limit of 65 mph on the rural stretch of Ga. 21, a divided four-lane highway near the Georgia-South Carolina state line.  Olazabal's manager, Sergio Gomez, did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

The two-time Masters champion wasn't jailed, but his mug shot was taken. Ehsanipoor said the sheriff's department photographs everyone who is brought in on a criminal charge or citation.  Olazabal, inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2009, has won 29 times around the world and played on seven Ryder Cup teams. He won the Masters in 1994 and 1999.
