Otis Estell, age 66 and William Jerdee, age 47 both lost their lives in
a terrible accident in Wyandotte County Kansas. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol on December 5, 2012 at approximately 7:47 pm on I70 Westbound at milepost 424 at the Lewis and Clark Viaduct the accident occurred. The
Police report states that the accident occurred when a vehicle operated
by Otis Estell was driving on the wrong side of the highway without headlights. William Jerdee was operating his vehicle in the westbound lanes when Mr. Estell struck his vehicle head on. The reasons as to why the vehicle was driving on the wrong side of the highway with no headlights are still unknown. Both the drivers, Kansas residents, were
pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
