Johnson County accident leaves three injured and eldery lady dead

Elaine Smith age 89, of Baldwin City was killed on January 11, 2013 in an accident on Interstate 35 in Olathe, KS.  In what is a puzzling case it appears that Ms. Smith rear ended a 2010 GMC Denali that was stopped in traffic.  There is no indication of what caused Ms. Smith to rear end the vehicle and it may have been a case of a distracted driver.  The terribly sad accident also caused injury to Erin Fogarty and her two young children Kian Fogarty and Addison Fogarty.  Ms Fogarty was treated and released.

Here is the Police Report.
