Two car accident in Johnson County leads to serious injury

Mary Thibodeaux age 55, was seriously injured in a January 10, 2013 accident in Johnson County.   According to the investigating officer, of the Kansas Highway Patrol, on January 10, 2013 at approximately 6:55 am on Interstate Highway 435 just west of Interstate 35 accident occurred. According to the police report the party ultimately responsible for the accident was the driver Katharine Stanton age 21, of Lawrence, KS.  The Johnson County car accident happened when a vehicle driven by Katharine Stanton lost control and spun, then was struck by a vehicle operated by Mary Thibodeaux.  After the vehicles made contact they both struck the barrier walls.  It is unknown at this time why Ms. Stanton lost control of her vehicle.

Mary Thibodeaux was transported by ambulance to Overland Park Regional medical center, Ms. Stanton was not injured.
